09 May BALANCING MOTHERHOOD & CAREER – Can We Have It All?
I’ve always wondered how other mothers in our male-dominated fields are balancing career and motherhood. Has being a mom ever made you question your chosen field? Have you ever considered walking away from it? My guess is most mothers in any field ask this question from time to time.
At the time of this writing, I’ve been a military reservist for over 13 years. My military career is a part of me. I’ve shifted and juggled my schedule when I had to as it related to my civilian career. In 2014, I became a mom but I also became a Law Enforcement Officer. Now I have two jobs that often take me away from my family.
I enjoy what I do on the civilian side and I’m proud of my military service. I’d like to give both 20 years; however, I wonder if the demand of family will allow it. I’m still very new to both motherhood and my career so I can’t share much on the experience. I would really like to know how you ladies are handling it. I hardly ever feel like I can give everything one hundred percent all the time. Boots, Badge and Baby Bottles™ is all about the mom who is powering through it all. We may make it look easy but it’s not.
How do you power through the demands of family, motherhood and career?
